75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 21, 1937

75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 21, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Wednesday, July 21:

Warm. Made cake. Ironed. To Jefferson with Aunt Gertrude. "Romeo & Juliet." Had heck of a time finding Pete at nite. Good time [ran off sheet]

Here is the long entry for Wednesday, July 21:

Real warm again. Made burnt sugar cake. Did most of the ironing in forenoon. Went over to Aunt Gertrude's at 1:00. She took me to Jefferson in her new V-8. Saw "Romeo & Juliet" & "Talent Scout." Both of them were really good & for only 16 cents. Had a Sundae & came home. Cleaned up & the folks took me to town. Trouble finding Pete again. These darned Wednesday notes. Had a good time after we finally got together. Didn't go home till 1:00. We just can't get away from each other.

My comments: …well, I hope not! ;-)

Sounds like a fun after noon in Jefferson in the new car - to a double-feature movie!

Romeo & Juliet was a 1936 American Film adapted from the play by Shakespeare...

Talent Scout (1937) film - only 62 minutes long… B film, barely??

Families are Forever!  ;-)
