75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 16, 1937

75 Years Ago - Eileen's Diary - July 16, 1937

This entry is the daily post on this blog from the diary of eighteen year old Eileen KINNICK, 75 Years Ago this date.

Since midway through 2010, a weekly update/comments blog entry began to appear on the Dr. Bill Tells Ancestor Stories blog. Those weekly entries, on that blog, on each Tuesday of the week, will continue, with links to these daily entries.

Here is the short entry for Friday, July 16:

Nice cool day. Slept till 9:00. Usual work & scrubbed upstairs. Hemmed frt. room curtains. Creamed eggs for supper. Dishes, milk things, mowed lawn. Early to bed.

Here is the long entry for Friday, July 16:

The keenest day ever. Nice & cool; just right to work. Slept till nearly 9:00. Did sep., dishes, cleaned upstairs, & made some sticky chic. frosting. Cleaned a little downstairs, hemmed front room curtains. Got supper, Lyle here a little bit, did dishes, mowed part of the lawn, washed milk things, cleaned up & went to bed early. Looked at catalogs, my moving picture. Helen called & wondered if Pete & I were going to the dance.
Darn this cold sore; I'd surely have gone if it weren't for it. Goodnite Diary!

My comments: Creamed eggs on toast! Yum!  ;-)

It is even better than it looks... I like the chunks of egg a littler larger, personally!  ;-) You?
